3 plopping tips

Want better waves, faster?

Plopping is when you gently scrunch your styled, wet waves into a towel, then wrap it around your head to keep your hair compact and lifted as it dries.

It removes excess water and speeds up the drying process.

Plopping also prevents waves from being stretched out or weighed down.

Giving you smoother, more defined waves, without the frizz.

1. Use the right fabric

Swap out your rough towel for a microfibre towel or hair wrap

These gentler fabrics reduce friction and frizz, setting the stage for smoother waves.

2. Don’t over-plop

Leaving your hair plopped for too long can leave roots flat and limp.

Aim for 10–20 minutes, then air dry or diffuse to finish.

3. Flip and wrap gently

Flip your head forward so your waves fall into the centre of the wrap or towel.

Wrap and secure the ends without twisting too tightly.

Keep the wrap loose to avoid squashing your waves.
