How does your hair become damaged?
95% of our hair is made up of protein bond structures. These hold our hair shafts together, giving it its strength and stability. They keep the hair in the natural shape it was formed.
During heat styling, colouring and day to day life, these bond structures are broken down before being hardened into a new shape. This is referred to as ‘hair damage’.
This leads to spongy, weak hair strands and split ends that eventually break off. The hair is overly dry, rough and tangles easily. It loses its shine and looks dull.
The only effective long-term solution is to restore the internal structure of your hair.
How does this plex treatment work?
Using two small molecule ingredients (Hydroxypropylgluconamide and Hydroxypropylammonium Gluconate) Merwave’s Repair & Restore Plex Treatment restores and reconnects these damaged and broken bonds from the inside out.
Both molecules are designed to strengthen your hair from inside the fibre by penetrating deep into the cortex to create new hydrogen and ionic bonds.
This then supports the internal protein structure, providing up to 3X strength compared to untreated hair.
What results can I expect?
As the plex treatment re-builds your hair bonds, it strengthens the hair from within, making it more resistant to breakages and damage.
Damaged hair's more porous than healthy hair. Moisture cannot be retained, causing brittleness and frizz. This plex treatment will repair those damaged cuticles. Your hair will now retain the vital moisture required to stay soft and frizz free.
By restoring the bonds, your hair elasticity will be improved. Your hair will become more manageable and more resilient to styling. It'll be visibly shinier and healthier.
How to use
Use whenever your hair feels dull and damaged. Or after you've been on holiday and subjected it to sun, sea and chlorine.
1. Wash hair first
2. Apply plex treatment to wet hair
3. Leave on for at least 30 minutes (you can leave it on overnight). The longer it's left, the more time it has to repair your hair
4. Rinse off
5. Complete steps 1-5 of Merwave routine as normal
Restoring damaged hair takes time. There's no overnight miracle product. So you may need a few treatments before you see results.

I brought the bundle that happened to pop up on my Facebook feed after I was researching what wave pattern I have in my hair after being discouraged since my hairs been fagile due to hormones post baby I’ve not given the true wavy nature of my hair a chance. I actually have always thought I had straight hair that I could if scrunched with enough products would be forced into a tousled look, roll on a bit of research and after talking with a few clients who have already been down this journey. Funny how the education is meant to come from me but actually every days a learning day and when you have clients that are awesome and open minded and love sharing their knowledge in the same way you do along with educating me too that’s just the best feeling. I learnt a lot from her styling lesson and decided to give it a go after grabbing a curly product from another very popular brand but this was a little too firm and moisturising so then decided these products were now my best chance as I’d started on this path now. I’ve never been able to have waves/curls that looked full and not wet and rock hard, well these were the answer to my new waves life. My hairs fuller, less tangled (strange because I don’t brush it now unless I’m wet brushing my products through. Honestly if you have fine hair like me with growth patterns get plopping with the hair wrap (the best anti static hair plopping and wave scrunching tool there is ) so glad I grabbed the hair wrap along with the bundle. It really is the best! Unlike the older style micro fibre towlels which actually sticky to my very dry fingers the merwave hair wrap really is beautiful in person and the design is super mermaidesque.

I have always struggled with my hair - I knew it wasn't dead straight, and if drying naturally it was a frizzy mess, which I just assumed was damage.
Along came the Curly Girl method, but as my hair isn't curly, it made my hair feel heavy and dry - I gave up and went back to straightening. Then I came across Merwave and thought I'd give it one last try. I finally feel like I've found the right, lightweight products - the waves just needed teasing out and being prepared the right way. It doesn't always come out perfectly, but I know that's because I'm in the "transition" period, and I'm determined to persevere.
