What's Pixie Diffusing?
You've likely heard 'pixie diffusing' being talked about in wavy and curly hair groups. But what is it and how does it work?
What is pixie diffusing?
It's a specific hair drying technique for wavy and curly hair.
Although this method takes longer than other drying techniques, it helps cuts down the amount of frizz that you may be experiencing. This is because it uses a low heat. The gentler form of drying your hair also keeps your waves definition locked in for longer.
How to pixie diffuse your hair?
Step 1 - Wash and style your hair as normal using theMerwave Wavy Hair Kit
Step 2 - Dig out your diffuser. I recommend the Dyson Supersonic Diffuser. But I fully appreciate it is an expensive option. I did grab one from Argos last Christmas on holiday after I left my Dyson at home and it did a brilliant job and only cost around £25!
Step 3 - Turn your diffuser onto a low heat, low speed setting. Tilt your head sideways or upside down. Grab a section of your hair and cup it into the diffuser. You want to hold it close to your scalp to encourage more volume. Hold it in place for 30 seconds.
Step 4 - Keep repeating the process on the rest of your hair section by section until it's about 80 percent dry.
Step 5 - Once 80% dry, simply let your hair air dry. When it's fully dry, apply some Merwave Wavy Hair Oil to create longer lasting softer waves. The oil will also lock in that moisture and fight off frizz.
