Ask Abi, week 26

Your questions, answered.

Question 1

"Can you share more about how to know if it is better to wet style vs. damp style your hair? Benefits of each." - Sarah

My Answer

I’d recommend trying both and seeing what works best for you.

Wet styling gives more definition and helps with frizz, while damp styling can create softer waves and more root volume.

It just depends on the look you’re after!

Question 2

"I love my waves on wash day but parts get flattened overnight and when I use refresh spray or wave cream it turns into a bit of a frizzy mess.

What do you recommend I do to revive my waves?" - Lesley

My Answer

Start by lightly misting your hair with water to rehydrate your waves and then gently scrunch to bring them back to life.

Sometimes that's all you need to reactivate the products already in your hair.

If some sections still need extra help, try applying a tiny amount of Wave Cream or Refresh Spray.

Less is more here you can even dilute the product with a little water in your hands before scrunching it in to avoid any heaviness or frizz.

Also, how you protect your hair overnight plays a big role in how your waves look the next day.

Try loosely tying your hair in a pineapple at the top of your head to reduce friction or switch to a silk pillowcase or silk bonnet to help keep your waves intact and frizz-free while you sleep.
