Ask Abi, week 21

Your questions, answered.

Question 1

Can I miss out the gel I don't like the texture on my hair or will it not stay in place? - Nikkie

My Answer

Yes of course, you do you!

It’s your waves, your way.

Try skipping the gel and see how your hair responds.

If you feel like you need a bit more hold, you can always add it back in, try diluting it with a little water before applying to soften the texture and make it feel lighter.

Question 2

I have hair that is just on my shoulders. I have not usually had any layers in my hair but my hairdresser suggested some now my hair is left wavy. Do layers help with the waves or do they detract from the mermaidy look which I really like? My hair is fine but I have a lot of it. I love the products btw! Thanks - Sarah

My Answer

So glad you're loving the products, thank you!

Layers can actually enhance your waves, especially if you’ve got a lot of fine hair.

They help remove weight so your waves can bounce up and form more naturally, giving you that soft, mermaidy texture.

Going to a specialist hairdresser who understands textured hair can make a big difference too they’ll know how to cut in a way that makes your waves pop.
