How to get Julia Roberts' Pretty Woman waves

We recently hosted a special 35th Anniversary screening of Pretty Woman at Everyman Newcastle. 

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us!

It was amazing to see our wavy hair community come together to celebrate an iconic film and the beauty of embracing natural waves. 

Did you know? Julia Roberts' signature waves in Pretty Woman were almost straightened!

But legendary stylist Serge Normant fought to keep them—and thank goodness he did!

Those gorgeous, untamed waves defined Vivian Ward’s iconic look.


Serge’s top tips for perfect waves:

1) Spread your styling product evenly over your hands before applying

2) Add extra where needed, at the roots for volume or mid-lengths for definition

Julia's biggest hair tip: Never tuck your hair behind your ears - "It never looks good!"
