My curls are renewed using these products, but the products leave my hair crunchy not soft as I’d hoped for.
My daughter used the products and her hair was a wavy dream. She looked fab. I will use it for occasions but not all of the time as sadly the curls just look crunchy and messy on me, not bouncy and soft, as I’d hoped for.
I’ve been using this kit for about a month now, I’m a busy mum and do skip a lot of the extras but even with the shampoo, conditioner and gel I can see a difference. Definitely less frizz and more wave coming, not dramatic but given the bottom is almost curly and the top was a frizz bomb at least it looks more unified and I can leave it without a blow dry now.
I’ve always struggled with my natural hair. The phrase “like rats tails” was something my hair was often referred to as when I was younger and I left it to be natural with minimal styling and product. When I hit my teens and those comments were taken to heart I jumped quickly on the poker straight hair styling. No matter how much I straightened my hair though my natural wave always wanted to be up front and centre stage, so the slightest bit of humidity resulted in a full blown Monica Gellar-Bing situation (“it’s the humidity!”). Sick of spending hours on my hair each day and destroying it with excessive heat styling (despite all the heat protection products), I ended up chopping it off and stayed short for around 10 years. Fast forward to my late 20’s I grew it long again, but was faced with the struggles of being like the forgotten sister of the hair hair bunch! Thankfully, I didn’t have to wait and suffer with the excessive heat styling for long until Merwave landed on our shores 😉
From the first time using it I realised what my hair was missing. I occasionally flip between luscious waves and straight hair days, but I always love how my hair looks and feels on the wavy days. I always go wavy when camping now as that makes managing my hair easier when spending a week in a tent in the back end of nowhere, and during the week when life just gets super busy and I’d rather have the extra time doing what I want rather than taming my locks. I’ve loved the comments I’ve received when on wavy days and it’s made me love my natural hair more than ever. For once I feel in control of it! Thank you Abi for bringing these amazing products to the market!
